Bengaluru: Kannada actors, especially the ones at the top of their game, are in a tough spot as the three strong political parties-BJP, Congress and JD(S)- are competing to bring them for the rallies. Close to twelve Kannada actors are campaigning for different parties, leaving their shooting schedules behind. Though certain politicians accuse actors of jumping ship to different parties based on circumstances, the parties seem to be vying for their support.

Actor Yash is not in support of any party, but provides his influence for those candidates who have worked for the cause of the people. He is campaigning for Sa. Ra. Mahesh from the JD(S), H.M. Revanna, Vinay Kulkarni and M.B. Patil from the Congress and C.M. Udasi, S.A. Ramadas and Satish Reddy from the BJP, and many others.

Actor Sudeep also maintains that he is not in support of any particular party, but campaigns for Narasimha Naik and Sriramulu from the BJP. He is also expected to be campaigning for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari on May 9. Sudeep says that his campaigns are just an indication of his friendship with the candidates.

Actor Darshan, whose mother Meena Thoogudeepa belongs to the Congress, is campaigning for CM Siddaramaiah. He will also campaign for Congress nominee in R.R. Nagar constituency, Munirathna, who also happens to be the producer of one of his films. Darshan’s campaign for the CM in Naganahalli resulted in a broil between JD(S) and Congress workers, injuring around 6 people.
