Bengaluru: A horrific scene where rather than helping a man who was grievously injured in a mischance, the onlookers were caught up with filming and clicking pictures of the man. The episode took place near Nayandahalli junction on Tuesday when a speeding truck rammed Madan Lal (34), who was riding a bike, from behind.

The victim Madan Lal is a resident of Panchasheela Layout in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. He was on the way to work when the mishap took place. His legs were crushed under the rear wheel of the truck. Mohan was screaming in pain and the on lookers gathered around him but none approached to help Mohal. In fact, few of them rushed near him and started clicking pictures and recording videos on their phones.

This inhumane act continued for nearly 20 minutes while Mohan was lying on the road screaming for help. After 20 minutes head constable Puttaswamy and constable Somasunder of Byatarayanapura traffic police headquarters reached the spot. The police took Lal to the hospital in a goods auto rickshaw.

The police arrested the truck driver and seized the truck. Somasunder disclosed to media that on lookers could have taken the injured victim to hospital instead of waiting for the ambulance to come for help.

“Indeed, even after we visited the spot, they were trying to ask us to wait for the ambulance. Instead, we decided to take the victim in a goods auto rickshaw to the hospital,” he said.
