People protest against Highway authority of India

Mangaluru: People who faced trouble during the recent rains here protested against the Highway authority of India for not providing adequate water let out facilities to handle the rain water on NH 66.

As per their complaint, some complained that the accumulated water has still not gone down in their houses as the Highway authority has blocked the water way.

It is said that Highway Authority does not want the water to flow into the road and hence blocked the water. The protestors said this shows the lack of planning by the Highway Authority.

Corporator Asha D’Silva said Asha D’Silva “We had requested the Highway Authority of India to make provisions to address the problem. But the request was totally ignored. We will not leave until the situation is completely resolved.
