Journalist Nidhi Razdan took to social media to announce that she had been a part of a “very serious phishing attack.” She claimed that an offer of professorship at Harvard University, for which she quit NDTV after 21 years, was found to be fake.
In her twitter post, she wrote, “I have been the victim of a very serious phishing attack. I’m putting this statement out to set the record straight about what I’ve been through. I will not be addressing this issue any further on social media.”

Nidhi in her statement explained that in June 2020 she was told that she would be posted as Associate Professor at the Harvard University. But after multiple delays in the posting and “administrative anomalies” in the process, she reached out to Harvard University, only to find out that she was scammed.
“I did not, in fact, receive an offer by Harvard University to join their faculty as an Associate Professor of Journalism. The perpetrators of this attack used clever forgeries and misrepresentations to obtain access to my personal data and communications and may have also gained access to my devices and my email/social media accounts,” Nidhi said in her statement.
She has filed a police complaint and also wrote to the Harvard University authorities and urged them to take serious note of the matter, the journalist’s statement added.
