Tumkuru: Devotees, including VVIPs have been praying for the speedy recovery of the ailing 111-year-old Siddaganga seer Shivakumara Swamiji whose health condition is said to be stable but deteriorating by the day.

Following the seers’ insistence, he was shifted to the Mutt on Wednesday, January 16 and has been placed on a ventilator in the makeshift ICU set up at the Mutt premises.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted for the recovery of the seers’ health.

“Shri Sri Sri Sri Shakumara Swamiji is a great personality. His outstanding service has had a positive impact on the lives of millions of people. The whole nation is praying for Sri Sri’s recovery,” read the tweet in Kannada.

Thousands of devotees, including VVIPs have thronged to the Mutt to get a glimpse of the seer. The mutt administration, in association with the district administration, is making necessary arrangements to provide food, water and shelter to the devotees. Keeping in view the several dignitaries who are expected to arrive at the mutt to enquire on the seers’ health the district administration has set up nearly 14 helipads across Tumkuru.
