Police capture attempted murder accused

Mangaluru: A youth accused of murder attempt in a case which happened at Mallur two months ago has been nabbed by the police in a joint operation by the police personnel of anti-rowdy squad and rural station.
The accused is identified as Ansar (30) from Ulaibettu and was on the run after launching serious attack on a person at Mallur. The youth is also accused in 7 cases registered at the rural police station on charges of communal clashes, cattle theft, murder attempt and others. He has been on the run since 2012 in connection to these cases.
Based on credible information that the accused was near Kannur, the police launched a joint operation on Wednesday. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody by the court.
