Tekkatte: A bike rider was critically injured when he crashed down to the road after his bike handle was carelessly pulled by a police staff for not stopping the bike when asked to during a routine vehicle inspection being conducted in front of Raghavendra Mutt in Tekkatte along NH 66.

The victim is identified as Ullas (27), a resident of Koravady. He suffered serious injury to his head in the fall and was rushed to the hospital by the locals.

Ullas was riding his bike from Tekkatte to Koravady when along the way, the highway police were conducting vehicle inspection in front of the Mutt. As Ullas reached near, he was asked to stop but he did not stop. For this reason, a police staff carelessly pulled the bike’s handle because of which, Ullas lost his balance and crashed headlong on to the road suffering direct hit to his head.

The bike also fell on the leg of the police staff who had carelessly pulled on the handle and got injured. He too has been admitted into a hospital.

This careless and haphazard behavior of the police has been greatly condemned by the angry public. The locals carried out a spot protest demanding that the DySP comes to the spot.

Kota police have visited the spot and carried out inspection.
