Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, former Congress leader Priyanka Maurya on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

Maurya was the face of the ‘Ladki Hun, Lad Sakti Hun’ campaign of Congress in Uttar Pradesh.

‘Ladki Hun, Lad Sakti Hun’ has become a mere slogan, said Maurya while claiming Congress didn’t give her a chance to fight despite being a deserving candidate

“I completed all formalities but the ticket distribution was pre-planned and was given to a person who came just a month back,” she said.

Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
