Prostitution racket busted; 6 arrested

Madikeri: 6 persons were arrested by Madikeri rural police on the charges of conducting prostitution at a home stay here.

The police conducted the raid on Bhavani home stay located along Murnadu – Kanturu road based on definite information and arrested 6 persons including the owner of the home stay. The husband of the home stay owner has reportedly escaped and the cops have drawn a net to catch Bhimayya.

The arrested are Shaji and Devedasan of Thalasshery I Kerala, Manu of Peravuru, Nidhad and Akshay of Kutuparambu and home stay owner Anasuya. 2 cars, 2 two-wheelers and Rs 22,030 have been seized from the accused.

The accused have been remanded to judicial custody while two women from Virajpet have been rescued, informed the police.
