Kundapura: Kharvi community members held a protest against the killings of Paresh Mesta here today.
Thousands gathered in the protest rally from Gangolli fort to Nayakwadi and Gujjadi until Trasi.
The protest was held expressing anguish at the State Government and CM Siddaramaiah for allegedly delaying the probe into the mysterious death of Paresh Mesta at Honnavara.
The protesters later gathered at Kodapadi grounds, Gangolli for a meeting. At first, they observed a minutes silence for the departed soul.
Addressing the gathering, K P Ullas said that CM Siddaramaiah incites murders of Hindus.
Shops and commercial complexes were closed and tight security arrangements were made to keep the situation under control. SP Sanjeev Patil stationed in Gangolli personally arranged security.
Drones and cameras were put to service to prevent untoward incidents. Every vehicle was checked at check posts before leaving towards Gangolli.
