Bengaluru: The BJP took out a challenge before the BBMP’s West Zone office owing to the suicide of a Pourakarmika, Subramani on Tuesday.
Mnay of these pourakarmikas have not gotten their salary for more than six months, despite the fact that the contract system was rejected and replaced. The workers were guaranteed that they would get their salary directly.
Subramani is accounted for to have committed suicide since he was confronting financial problems and non-receipt of his salary for six months even ended up pulling his kids out of school.
“The organization has reneged on its guarantees. Despite the fact that they guaranteed that salaries would be paid on time after introducing bio-metric system, delays have proceeded. Because of this, a honest laborer has paid the value”, the dissenters griped and requested that Mayor R Sampatraj assume moral responsibility for the death and resign from his post.
Joint Commissioner Basavaraju endeavored to assuage the furious dissenters by promising to discharge the payments to the individuals who are enrolled in the biometric system before the end of the day. He requested the pourakarmikas not to lose hope as their dues would be paid on time.
Mayor Sampatraj additionally guaranteed to determine the issue by July 20.
