Mandya: A group of people led by Indian Medical Association H.S. Ravindra staged a protest in Mandya opposing the decision of the JDS  to field Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.

Under the banner of fight for self-respect, a group of people led by Dr Ravindra staged a protest in front of the statue of Sir M Visvesvaraya in Mandya.

Nikhil is an outsider, therefore the JD(S) should give the ticket to local leaders, claimed HS Ravindra.

Meanwhile, a BJP leader filed a complaint with State Women’s Commission against Public Works Minister HD Revanna for his making derogatory remarks against Sumalatha, wife of Congress leader late  M.H. Ambareesh.

CT Manjunath in his complaint accused Revanna of making derogatory remarks against Sumalatha. If the minister fails to tender apology legal action should be initiated against him.
