Puttur: 23-year-old accidentally falls into pond, drowns

Puttur: A 23-year-old girl drowned in a pond near her house in a village in Puttur.
The deceased has been identified as Suraksha Jain (23), a resident of Arasikette. The incident occurred when Suraksha was returning home from her uncle’s house.
While walking back home, she lost her balance and accidentally fell into the pond. Her brother jumped to save her but by then Suraksha had drowned.
Suraksha’s father, Rajaverma Jain also collapsed due to shock and has been taken to a nearby hospital.
Police officials who visited the spot conducted an inspection.
