Puttur Swimmers to represent India at World lifesaving competition in Australia

Puttur/Adelaide: World Lifesaving Championship is being held in Adelaide, Australia currently and two swimmers from Puttur Aquatic Club, Sweekrith Anand and Trishul along with their team manager Rohith are representing India here.
Earlier this year, during the selection rounds in Indore, both Trishul and Sweekrith Anand had done extremely well. The team’s good performance won them the Individual Championship (in Master Category) with Sweekrith Anand and Trishul winning runner up in this category.
World Lifesaving Championship is currently taking place in Adelaide, South Australia from November 19 to December 5 and 12 swimmers from all over the country were selected to represent Team India at the competition.Trishul and Sweekrith Anand from Puttur Aquatic Club, trained at Dr Shivarama Karanth Balawana Swimming Pool Puttur and in pool, Mangaluru. They were introduced to Lifesaving activities by Coach Partha Varanashi and Niroop.
Trishul is a 2nd PUC commerce student from St Philomena PU College, Puttur and is representing National Youth Team and Sweekrith Anand also a competitive swimmer is representing National Open Team. The team is being accompanied by Rohith who works as an assistant swim coach in Puttur.
Sweekrith and Trishul will take part in a series of races both in the beaches and in the sea, which includes Mannequin carry, beach run, surf race, board race, Lane throw and other challenges.
