Raichur: 27 child labourers rescued

Raichur: Authorities on Friday, September 4 rescued in a raid more than 27 child labourers being carried on goods vehicles for manual labour work at Siravara town.

The raid was led by the District Child Protection Unit, taluk administration, Labor Department, Women and Child Welfare Department, Education Department, Transport Department, Child Helpline and Police Department.

The officials raided 9 vehicles coming from Ballattagi, Lakkandinni and Narabanda carrying 27 children.

District Planning Officer Manjunath Reddy sent the children back with their parents after warning them not to send them to work again.
