Raichur: Villagers seized a tanker that was dumping poisonous chemical water into the Mansalapura lake here on the night of Saturday, July 25.

Chemical water from industrial areas was being dumped in the ditches and lake during the night causing the deaths of many aquatic creatures and crops nearby.

The worried villagers waited for many nights for the tanker to come and finally caught it on July 25. However, the driver of the tanker escaped.

The villagers have demanded that authorities investigate and seal the company behind this unscientific disposal of waste chemical water.

Responding to this, Raichur Rural Police Station SI Rangappa said that they are yet to find out the truck owner’s information and have already started the investigation.
