Mysuru: Rapper and winner of Bigg Boss Kannada 5, Chandan Shetty and Bigg Boss Kannada 5 faced severe criticism after he proposed his love to Niveditha Gowda at Yuva Dasara, on Friday, October 4.
Chandan, during an ongoing Mysore youth Dasara event, went down on his knees and proposed Niveditha keeping the citizens of Mysore as witnesses.
Niveditha, who was initially in a shock, accepted Chandan’s proposal and confessed her feelings too.
“I always wanted to propose Niveditha abroad. But the thought of proposing her in Mysore youth Dasara stroke him in the morning while he was getting ready for the performance,” said Chandan after Niveditha accepted his proposal.
Meanwhile, Niveditha said, “I am shocked. I never expected it. We stayed together in Bigg Boss Kannada for 105 days. We got closer during the journey. We remained friends after coming out of the show and gradually turned best friends while getting to know each other well.”
However, Chandan’s decision to express his love in a government-sponsored event has not gone well with many people.
District in-charge of Mysuru, V Sommanna was also criticized for not taking action against the couple.
