Udupi: In a curious incident that took place at the service bus stand here on Friday, a police inspector and the driver who were seated in a jeep, jumped out of their vehicle in a bid to save their lives when they saw an erratically driven bus proceeding towards them. Apparently, the bus driver was in a mad rush.
The jeep was stationed at a corner in a corner of the service bus stand and police inspector Pramod of the Coastal Security Police Force station at Malpe, and jeep driver Ramachandra were seated within the jeep. All of a sudden, they saw a bus approaching towards them at high speed and way too close for their comfort. The fear for their lives compelled the duo to spontaneously jump out of the jeep to save themselves.
Later, a complaint was filed at the traffic police station here against the bus driver Yogeendra for rash and negligent driving.
