Renovated Prabhath theatre’s anniversary today

Mangaluru: Prabhath theatre located along K S Rao road in the city has been renovated with the latest facilities in-line with the multiplex model and started showing movies last year and is celebrating its anniversary on August 15th.
Prabhath talkies started in 60s and had been showing regional movies as well as world class movies to movie lovers. The theatre which was earlier functioning as a single screen theatre is currently in a very different avatar.
B K Vasudeva established ‘Prabhath ’ theatre in 1958. The movie theatre began functioning with the screening of ‘Kalapani’ Hindi movie starring Bollywood star Dharmendra. Prashant Narayan, Subraya Pai and Sudhindra worked at the managing director, manager and engineer respectively.
Central AC fitted Prabhath wins over movie goers
The renovated theatre gives all the facilities that are available at a multiplex. A special silver screen has been installed here and it also has 4K projection with Dolby Atmos 64 speakers system. Along with central AC, the balcony seats cost Rs 145 while the push back seating on the lower ground costs Rs 391.
