Bengaluru: BJP MLC Ayanur Manjunath blamed Public Works Minister H D Revanna for the defeat of his nephew, Mandya Lok Sabha constituency Nikhil Kumaraswamy.

Addressing presspersons on Friday, he Ayanur Manjunath that, it was Revanna, who made sure that voters in Mandya favour Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh with disparaging comments against her, questioning her haste in entering poll fray within months after losing her husband.

“Revanna’s remarks against Sumalatha made her win the poll with handsome margin,” he added.

He further added that Revanna had said that he would take political sanyas if Modi-led BJP wins Lok Sabha polls. Now, he should stick to his words.

” It is sad that Deve Gowda had to end his political career on a losing note because of Revanna’s selfish politics, he said.
