Rs 7.4 lakh unaccounted cash seized

Mangaluru/Udupi: Two cases of transportation of unaccounted money were recognized in the coastal region of Karnataka after the moral code of conduct came to force and Rs 7.4 lakh rupees in cash was seized. While Rs 2.9 lakh was found in Mangaluru, Rs 4.5 lakh was found from near the check post at Brahmavar.
Electoral officials and policemen discovered Rs 2.9 lakh being taken in a car into the city. A man named Rajashekhara Andinje was bringing the said sum in his car to the Mangaluru.
During the verification by authorities at the check post at Pumpwell in the city, Andinje failed to produce any documents in favor of the money however expressed that it was implied for distribution to coolies. As the workers alluded by him work at Beltangady and money was being brought into the city,the police suspected him and seized the cash. The individual was told to produce appropriate document towards this money.
In another case, a sum of Rs 4.5 lakh was seized from close to the check post near Sastan in Udupi district from two people. Kundapur assistant commissioner and electoral officer, T Bhoobalan, transmitted this cash into the treasury. This seizure was made from a car belonging to an agent working for a poultry farm, and a man running finance firm.
