Rs 7.70 lakh gold seized at MIA

Mangaluru: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport confiscated 232 grammes of gold from an inbound air passenger on Wednesday, February 13.
According to the officials, the passenger who had arrived from Dubai in SpiceJet flight SG60 was trying to smuggle the gold in the form of six rhodium coated buttons stitched onto his denim jacket.
The value of the seized gold is estimated at Rs 7.70 lakh.
