Karkala: Rupa Shetty assumed office as the new chief of the Karkala town council on Monday.
Vice president of the town council Pallavi and other staff welcomed Shetty.
Shetty had served in the Puttur town council for 4.5 years.
She has also previously worked in the Mangaluru City Corporation.
