Bengaluru: Leaders of the Madiga Dandora Horata Samiti have demanded that at least two MLAs from the Madiga community be given Cabinet berths. They have specifically demanded a ministerial berth for MLA from the KGF Assembly constituency Roopa Shashidhar, who is the only MLA from the community in the coalition.
In a press conference on Friday, District President of the Samiti, T.R. Vijay Kumar demanded that not just Shashidhar, but H. Anjaneya who was defeated in the elections should also be inducted into the Ministry after getting elected to the Legislative Council. He also suggested R.B. Thimmapura, who was a Minister in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet.
Kumar said that the government should consider leaders of the community for appointing heads of boards and corporations. He also demanded that the government implement the recommendations of Justice Sadashiva Commission on internal reservation, claiming that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had promised the same during his campaign.
