Saptapadi marriages to be organised twice/month says Min Kota

Subramanya: Muzrai Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary announced that mass marriages organised under the ‘Saptapadi’ programme of the government will be henceforth be conducted twice a month.
He said this while speaking to reporters at Kukke Subramanya on Friday.
“The Saptapadi mass marriage ceremony will be held on February 17 and 25. In the months ahead the marriages will be organised as per the muhuratam,” he added.
“There are about 206 grade A temples and about 310 grade B temples in the State. Applications have already been called for the formation of the Managing Committees of 80 temples through the Dharmik Parishat. About 11 temples have already constituted a Managing Committee. Other temples have their police report pending for the formation of the committees,” Poojary said.
“Regularisation of temple employees is in process. It will be done soon. All temples have been allowed to implement the sixth pay commission scheme for employees. Plans have been prepared to implement the sixth pay commission with 35 per cent of the temple’s income,” the minister said.
