SARS-COV-2’s UK strain detected in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Three returnees from Britain have been diagnosed with the new mutant COVID-19 infection.
Six people were found to be infected with the mutant novel coronavirus, three of them in arrived in Bengaluru.
The State government has informed that 2,127 people who arrived from Britain since December 1 were notified to be tested for the new strain.
Till date, 1,766 have been tested. 361 passengers are still untraced even 10 days after their arrival.
A tracing operation has already been started to find the missing UK returnees.
