Savings with fitness too: Machine gives away free tickets for sit-ups, video goes viral

New Delhi: A unique experiment has been done by the Railways Department to encourage fitness at Anand Vihar railway station of Delhi. After exercising in front of the machine installed here, platform tickets can be taken free of charge.

Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal posted a tweet with a video with this update on Friday, February 21.

In the video, a teenager can be seen doing continuous sit-ups in front of the machine in a specified area and at the end of the video, a ticket falls from the machine.

“Saving with fitness too: A unique experiment has been done to encourage fitness at Delhi’s Anand Vihar railway station,” Goyal quoted in the post in Hindi.

This video has garnered more than 1 lakh views 21k likes and 5.3k retweets so far.

In response to this, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Youth Affairs & Sports, Kiren Rejiju has appreciated the move by retweeting the post.

“Railway Minister @PiyushGoyal A unique and amazing use of ji. Saving with health too! Exercising in front of this machine installed at Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi, you can get a platform ticket free. Let us all, Prime Minister @narendramodi Join Gee’s #FitIndiaMovement initiative,” he posted in the tweet in Hindi.
