Red alert in DK: Schools, PU colleges to remain closed on Friday

Mangaluru: A holiday has been declared for schools and pre-university colleges in Dakshina Kannada district on Friday, October 25 after the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rains and issued a red alert in the district.

In view of heavy rain since Thursday morning, Dakshina Kannada district administration declared holiday a on Friday, October 25 for schools and pre-university colleges in the district.

Meanwhile, Heavy rains accompanied with thunder and lightning are expected to hit Karnataka state, especially the coastal area from Mangaluru to Karwar in the next 48 hours as a side effect of cyclone ‘Kyarr’ in the Arabian Sea.
