Seer advises parents to chop off limbs of girls wanting to marry against their wishes

Bengaluru: Shivacharya seer of Siddarabatte in Koratagere faced severe backlash for his advise asking parents to chop off legs and hands of their daughter who went against their wishes when it comes to marriage.

Speaking at an event organised to felicitate the meritorious Veerashaiva-Lingayat committee, the seer narrated an instance where a girls parents had approached him asking him to convince their daughter not to marry her lover.

However the girl was adamant on her choice and preferred to remain unmarried if her parents didnt agree to the alliance. The seer went on to say that in such a situation the parents would have to face embarrassment as society would ask several questions. He opined that the parents must chop off legs and hands of such girls so they could give her being handicapped as reason for her being unmarried.

His statement went viral on social media with several netizens requesting the police to register an FIR.
