Senior writer dies in road accident while returning from vacation

Belagavi: Senior writer Dr. Veeresh Hiremut breathed his last in a road mishap near Nandagada in Khanapur taluk while returning from a family vacation on January 14.
Dr. Veeresh Hiremut is a known writer and was currently working as journalism lecturer at Bagalkot BVV College. Hiremut and his wife were returning from Goa towards Bagalkote along with a driver. It is said that the car driver fell asleep while driving and lost control of the vehicle. The car hit a tree near Nandagada. The accident killed Hiremat, leaving the wife and the driver severely injured.
The body of the deceased is shifted to Dharwad Civil hospital.
Nandagada police have registered a case.
