Shankaranarayana policeman’s corpse found at Tarikere

Kundapur: The corpse of Malleshappa (27), a police constable attached to Shankaranarayana police station in the taluk, was found at Tarikere in Chikkamagaluru district under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday August 20. The deceased had proceeded on leave.
The deceased had availed leave from August 16 for visiting his native place and on Tuesday, his motorbike was found on the banks of Bettadakere lake in Bettadahalli village of Tarikere taluk, Chikkamagaluru district. The locals who grew suspicious, informed the police and eventually, the local police, with help from fire personnel, searched the lake and recovered Malleshappa’s corpse.
Malleshappa was appointed as policeman in 2015 and was working in Shankaranarayana police station since then. He was unmarried and leaves behind parents and a sister. there are doubts regarding the way Malleshappa has died.
Tarikere police station has registered a case in this connection and is conducting investigation.
