Shirva: Woman killed after being hit by motorbike

Shirva: A woman was killed after being hit by a motorbike while she was crossing the Katapadi-Shirva main road near the Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology, Bantakal on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Yellamma (55). She was residing in a rented house behind Bantakal College.

Yellamma was crossing the road when a motorbike moving towards Katapadi hit her. She was rushed to Udupi district hospital but the doctors declared her brought dead.

The bike rider also suffered injuries in the accident and is admitted to a hospital.

Shirva police have reached the spot and are investigating.
