Shivamogga: Curfew extended for two more days; Holidays declared for schools, colleges

Shivamogga: As the situation in Shivamogga continued to be tense, the district commissioner Dr Selvamani informed that curfew will be extended for the next two days.

Addressing presspersons he said, “Earlier we had decided to impose curfew in the district till Wednesday, February 23 morning but due to the current situation we will be extending it till Friday, February 25 morning.”

He also announced holidays for the schools and colleges in the district till the curfew is lifted.

Reserve forces have been called in and senior police officers are stationed in the district to monitor the situation.

Harsha was stabbed to death on Sunday night here leading to clamping of prohibitory order even as the city witnessed arson, violence, and stone-pelting.
