Shivamogga: Lorry driver transporting Rs 1.26 Cr worth areca nuts goes missing

Shivamogga: A lorry driver who was transporting areca nuts worth Rs 1.26 Cr from Shivamogga to Ahmedabad has gone missing.

The driver identified as Mohammed Ghouse, a resident of Tippu Nagar was transporting 250 quintals of areca nuts belonging to the Malnad Areca Marketing co-operative society (MAMCOS).

The consignment was scheduled to reach Ahmedabad on May 30. The owner tried contacting Ghouse but his phone was switched off.

Following this, a complaint was filed at the nearby police station. Further investigations are underway.
