Mysuru: Incumbent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah seems to be in trouble in his political stronghold that is Chamundeshwari constituency. He is trailing behind G.T. Deve Gowda of the JD(S) by 3425 votes. The constituency had been a strength in his career ever since he contested an Assembly seat for the first time in 1983.

Siddaramaiah was quite confident of his victory in Chamundeshwari, but the counting results so far point to the contrary. The constituency witnessed a poll percentage of 76.05%. Meanwhile, the BJP is experiencing an early lead in almost 30 seats in the State.

The JD(S) is leading in a few seats with party leader H.D. Kumaraswamy leading by 1000 votes in Ramanagara and party candidate B.A. Jivijaya leading in Madikeri with 4197 votes
