Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah is scheduled to visit New Delhi on Monday, July 19, on an invitation from the party High Command. On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah will attend a meeting with the senior party leaders.
His visit amid growing fissures in the Karnataka Congress unit over the party’s Chief Ministerial face for the 2023 Assembly polls has sparked off speculations in the political circles.
Earlier, Karnataka state Congress president DK Shivakumar had met Rahul Gandhi and discussed organizational changes in the party.
A discussion regarding the appointment of state office-bearers was held and DK Shivakumar had submitted the list of candidates to Rahul Gandhi. Soon after, Siddaramaiah too sent a list to the High command.
It is being said that the High command has invited Siddaramaiah to discuss the candidates on the list.
