Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister and coalition coordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah ’s foreign tour during the winter session of the State has raised speculations in the state.
It is gathered that Siddaramaiah will be leaving for Malaysia on Monday to attend the wedding of one of his family friends and will return to Bengaluru only on Friday, December 14. As the result, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, which was scheduled to be held in Belagavi on Monday, December 10 just before the start of the session, has been postponed to December 18.
The absence of Siddaramaiah for the first week of the joint winter session is likely to disappoint a majority of Congress legislators who saw him as their saviour and a bridge between party workers and disgruntled MLAs informed sources
The Bharatiya Janata Party might also use Siddaramaiah’s absence to attack the coalition government, informed sources.
Eshwar Khandre defending, Congress working president Siddaramaiah’s absence on Sunday, December 9 said that is a private visit and there is no hidden political motive behind it.
Meanwhile, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the Congress have able leaders to face opposition BJP in the Belagavi session during the debate on crucial issues.
