Soldier on vacation gets arrested for robbery

Madikeri: An army soldier who had come down to his home on vacation ended up in the jail instead of his barracks. An incident has come to light where the soldier along with his brother attempted robbery. The police have arrested both of them.
The arrested have been identified as N.L. Naveen (20) and Subramani (25). Both are the sons of Laxman from Basavana Halli village near Kushalanagar.
Their MO was to steal gold jewelry from late night travelers at Kushalanagar KSRTC bus stand. The total assets seized from the arrested amounts to the value of Rs. 4,50,000. The seized assets include 130 gm gold jewelry worth Rs. 3,90,000, two mobile phones worth Rs. 20,000 and the motorcycle they used in their misadventure.
They used to prey on women who alight from the late night bus and go to use the restroom at the KSRTC bus stand.
Subramani was serving in the Indian Army from the past four years and had returned back home on December vacation, informed the police.
