Speed up execution of four laning, flyovers directs Gadkari

Mangaluru: Union minister for surface transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari has ordered for speedy execution of the work on four-laning of NH 66 from Talapady to Kundapur and the flyovers at Thokkottu and Pumpwell.
The meeting, convened at the behest of Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was attended NHAI officials and contractors.
Chairing over the meeting, held at New Delhi on Monday Gadkari who had been briefed about the slow pace of works related to national highways in the district directed the Navayug Construction Company to complete the work on the flyovers by February-end to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles.
Further, he directed L&T and NHAI officials to accelerate the work the four-laning of the NH 75 from B C Road to Addahole by settling legal disputes at the earliest.
He also directed the state NH officials to speed up the land acquisition process for the Kulashekar – Karkala, B C Road – Kateel – Mulki and Melkar – Konaje – Thokkottu stretches.
Gadkari said that he would participate in the inauguration of the completion of the work on the Talapady – Kundapur national highway stretch and to lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of the other three stretches.
NHAI Managing Director Alok Deepankar, Regional Officer R C Sooryavamshi, R C Sooryavamshi, secretary of the minister, and others attended the meeting.
