Sri Vishveshatheertha to be posthumously conferred Padma Vibhushan on Nov 8

Udupi: The Padma Vibhushan award, which was posthumously announced for Sri Vishveshatheertha Sripada, will be presented on November 8 in New Delhi.
The current pontiff Sri Vishwaprasannatheertha Sripada has received an invitation in this regard.
In 2020, the central government had announced the second-highest Indian civilian award to the late pontiff in recognition of his extraordinary service in the religious and social fields. But the award ceremony was delayed due to the Covid pandemic.
Sri Vishwaprasannatheertha Sripada will take a walk to Neelavar goshala from Udupi Sri Krishna Matha on November 7, and travel to Bengaluru the same night. He will then fly to New Delhi the next day and return the same day.
In Delhi, the pontiff will also attend the meeting of Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Thithakshethra Trust, souces said.
