Mangaluru/Kuwait: There are signs that the technical problem relating to the sending back the 75 persons from India including 35 youth from Mangaluru currently stranded in Kuwait is getting resolved and positive developments have occurred at the meeting conducted by Shoon (Kuwait Labour Law ) here on Sunday. The stranded Indians in question had gone to Kuwait for work and then ended up stranded there.

Of the 75 persons, 60 had attended the Shoon meeting and 53 out of them signed a letter which was in Arabic. The remaining 7 persons are form Andhra Pradesh and have already resigned from their respective jobs. Hence their signature as not required for the papers. The 15 persons who did not attend the meeting on Sunday may possibly sing the papers the Shoon meeting that is scheduled for Monday and this meeting may finally bring out the final decision, inform sources.

According to the discussion that occurred t the Shoon meeting, the visa of the stranded would be cancelled and the victims would be provided with passport and a little amount of money. All of this must be handed over to the Indian Embassy there by the company. Through this the employees will finally be freed from their current problem and it will be easier for them to return back to their homeland.

The meeting was attended by the Shibi U S who is the 2nd secretary of the Indian Embassy office here, representatives of Shoon, Public Authority of Manpower (PAM), representatives of ENASCO General Trading and contracting company and the victim employees.

Who will pay for the air ticket?

Now there is question on who will pay for the return air ticket of the employees. No decision has been taken regarding this till now. Presently they have no problem regarding accommodation and food. The afternoon and night meals are being sponsored by a businessman and four engineers of the Institute of Engineers Kuwait respectively. But there is no clarity on who will pay for the air ticket. The employees may receive back their passports on Monday and if the ticket facility is done properly, then the stranded men may return back to their motherland in another two days.
