Subrahmanya: Retd ASI killed in road accident

Subrahmanya: A man was killed after a car rammed into the scooter he was riding at Subrahmanya on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as A. Pergade Gowda (67), a retired police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) residing at Kulkunda. The accident occurred in front of the Vallisha Sabha Bhavana while the scooter was taking a right turn at the road divider.

Gowda received serious head injuries in the impact and was rushed to the Kadaba Hospital where the doctors pronounced him brought dead.

It is gathered that the car involved in the accident ferrying pilgrims to the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple from Bengaluru.

Goda had retired from police service after serving in the Subrahmanya Police Station. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. A case has been registered.
