Sullia: A house was engulfed in flames following a cylinder explosion at Gundia in Aletty village here on Monday, February 10 evening.
The incident took place at around 4 pm when house owner Krishna and his family members were away to attend a function.
Nearby residents noticed smoke coming out from the house, which was followed by a blast. The fire brigade personnel were notified who rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
However, the entire house had been gutted in the flames by then. The exact reason for the blast could not be ascertained.
