Surveyor suicide attempt case: Complaint lodged against official, staffs

Udupi: Brahmavar Land Survey Department surveyor Ashok Bairavadagi, who is presently admitted in a hospital after having attempted suicide by consuming poison took the extreme step because the official of the Department Manjunath and staff Subrahmanya were troubling him in connection to his work, stated the victim’s wife Padmavati in her complaint to the police.
Ashok has been delivering his duty at the Land Survey Department since 9 years. On July 20, he left for work and returned. On inquiring, he revealed that he was transferred from records section to repair division. Hurt by this action, he left from home on July 24th at 9 am in the morning informing he was going to work and soon went missing.
On July 28th, Ashok consumed poison at Ajjarakadu park in Udupi. Social worker Vishu Shetty shifted the victim to the district hospital from where he was shifted to Manipal hospital.
Udupi city police have registered a case based on Padmavati’s complaint.
