Suspected kidnapping of a lady; accused abandon car and escape

Udupi: In a bizarre incident, a lady was kidnapped and later thrown out of the car at Kinnimulki on Wednesday January 30^th. Later, the miscreants who were forcefully taking the girl in a car abandoned the vehicle at Balayipade near Kinnimulki along the NH 66 and escaped.

An ash coloured Ritz car was going from Mangaluru towards Udupi. A girl within that car was screaming. As the car reached Kinnimulki Balayipade, the girl sitting in the rear of the car attempted to open the rear door and jump out. Immediately, the car driver slowed down the car, kicked out the lady and escaped. The car drive who pushed out the lady tried to go towards Udupi via Kinnimulki flyover. Since there was vehicular density in the service road, the driver of the car parked the vehicle in front of a building undergoing construction, boarded a bus and escaped, inform local auto rickshaw drivers who had tailed the car.

It is still not clear if the girl attempted to jump off the car suddenly or if she was pushed out it.

As soon as the incident occurred, a Pajero car driven by a driver along with a woman passenger came from behind. Immediately the lady entered into the car. Then the car took a U-turn and returned back towards Mangaluru, inform the local auto rickshaw drivers.

A bag has been found in the car containing make up set, cash and a ticket. There are no documents in the car. Cigarette, footwear and headphones have been found. It is being said that the car was Udupi registered. Since nobody has given a complaint, the secret behind this bizarre incident remains unclear.

Since nobody has given a complaint no case has been registered. Malpe station PSI is conducting an investigation in this connection,” informed Laxman Nimbaragi, Udupi SP

The incident location was visited by DySP Jai Shankar and Malpe police inspector Madhu, who conducted investigation. The car has been seized by the police.
