Taiwan is battling drought and while the country is suffering, the drought has brought some luck to a man. A man surnamed Chen was able to retrieve an iPhone 11 which he had dropped into one of Taiwan’s most iconic lakes a year ago.
Chen’s post is now viral on Facebook.
一年前的3/15我在日月潭玩立槳,因落水太多次結果掛在我勃子上的手機沈入日月潭裡,瞬間心情跌落谷底,根本沒心情玩了。
朋友說:放心一年後就能再見到了

Taiwan News reports that the lake had turned into a barren wasteland as the island suffers from a severe water shortage. When the water levels in the Sun Moon Lake hit a low record, Mr. Chen was contacted by a worker that his iPhone had been found. The phone was caked in mud but to Mr. Chen’s surprise, it still worked. Iphone’s waterproof covering ensured that it remained completely dry, despite spending a year at the bottom of the lake.
He even shared the pictures on Facebook to show that the phone worked.
The Facebook post garnered more than 25,000 reactions and hundreds of comments.
