Take precaution against strangers while travelling with money

Malpe: With the aim to prevent crime and in terms of safety, Malpe police station conducted an awareness meeting for the branch managers of various banks, cooperative societies and the general public at Malpe police station on Wednesday.
Sub inspector Sudhakar B spoke on the occasion and said that one must be wary of strangers following them after they have withdrawn money from the bank. There is a possibility that they will divert your attention and then make off with the money. When walking out of the bank, observe if there are any vehicles without number plates or if their number plates have been covered by paper. Beware of such an occasion and inform the police, he said.
Speaking officially on the occasion, ASI Ratnakar K said that in the nowadays, there are enough gangs in Udupi and Malpe which plotting to rob money and jewellery from citizens. This meeting has been called with the aim to inform everybody to be careful, he advised.
ASI Janardan, probationary SI Suma B Acharya and station staff were present.
