Mangaluru: BJP MLA Dr. Bharat Shetty has said that stern action will be taken against those trying to desecrate Hindu places of worship.

He was reacting to an act of vandalism by unidentified miscreants at a Naga Bana in Kuloor here.

“Miscreants are trying to create communal unrest in the society by resorting to such shameful acts. They must be dealt with a stern hand,” the BJP MLA said.

Shetty urged the police to identify the culprits through their intel network and initiate stern action against them.

Pointing towards a rise in such incidents in the district, Shetty said that he will discuss the issue with the state home minister and a tough law will be formulated to deal with such cases.
