Talapady: The Ullal police probing the murder of a 12-year-old boy at KC Road near Mangaluru on Saturday, April 3 night detained a 17-year-old youth for questioning.
The deceased boy has been identified as Aakeef, son of KC Road resident Hanif and a class 6 student of Fanah School.
Hanif in a complaint to Ullal police has alleged that his son had gone out on Saturday to play the PUBG game along with his friends.
Aakeef and the accused minor had gotten acquainted with each other three months ago and were playing the PUBG game.
As per the police, the detained minor believed that Aakeef was winning the games with someone else’s help and had challenged him to play with him up front.
However, as Aakeef was losing the game, the duo got into a fight and eventually the accused assaulted the deceased with stones. Later he tried to hide the body by covering it among the shrubs.
