Tigor EV, the first ever all-electric vehicle of Tata Motors has been offered initially for the fleet and commercial operators. As for now, the commercial buyers who are eligible for the government’s FAME II benefit scheme with a subsidy amount of Rs.1.62 lakh can purchase the Tigor EV.
The electric version of the Tigor sedan is available in two mid-spec variants – XM and XT at a price tag of Rs.9.99 lakh and Rs.10.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. This price includes the FAME II incentives and the 1% tax imposed on cars that cost above Rs.10 lakh. Tata offers the Tigor EV with a 3-year or 1.25 lakh kilometre warranty.
The Tigor EV gets powered by a 72V three-phase AC induction motor that generates 30kW power @ 4,500rpm and 105Nm of peak torque @ 2,500rpm. The 16.2kWh battery takes 6 hours to get 80% charged via a standard AC wall socket while the same can be achieved in a claimed 90 minutes via a DC 15kW fast charger. Tata claims a top speed of 80kmph and 0-60kmph time of 12 seconds for the Tigor EV and 142km range on a single charge of the battery.
In terms of features, both the XM and XT variants get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, LED tail-lamps, driver’s seat height-adjust, power windows and a Harman Kardon 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity. In addition to these, the XT variant gets 14-inch alloy wheels and powered outer mirrors. The all-electric compact sedan runs on 175/65 R14 tyres and is available in white, blue and silver colour options.
